As for being dead set on going up against a 1299 you will find a few things that make this difficult.

1) Most higher end Ducati owners have no desire to prove themselves against smaller Japanese sportbikes.

2) Most higher end Ducati owners have no desire to ride/race their expensive equipment hard.

3) 1299 Ducatis, generally speaking, are few and far between.
