I would that that should be fine.

The most competitive classes are Thunderbike and LWF40 if you are old enough for that one. Otherwise you will be in the middleweight classes where the 748 will be an underdog to the newer Japanese 600s. Still should be ok for getting your get wet.

I am assuming you have done some track days? If not, it would be a good idea for some less expensive track time to hone your skills.
