Demo ideas?! -
January 31, 2012, 12:40 PM
So I was planning on continuing the demos and covering other things besides suspension. I'm looking for ideas on what you guys want to learn. As of now I'm thinking of doing a valve clearance check and adjustment demo for the modern shim under bucket valve train that you'll find on just about every jap bike.. I have a spare engine out of the bike so it should be a good demo if anyone is interested. Maybe mid March?.
PLEASE keep trolling to a minimum and if anyone has issues with me doing these demos please let me know and if your reasoning is valid I will stop immediately but if it's not you will be advised to "pound sand"

Fairly easy if you follow a service manual.
Might be helpful for some who learn better by actually seeing it, versus looking at pictures.
Sounds like a great idea, Redlevel. You should consider filming them as well and start building a video archive

I agree but I think everything is easy when it comes to motorcycles and that's why I want to know what people actually need/want to learn.

I'm game but you better have a free weekend because depending on the engine (inline 4, single, V twin etc) that would be a 2 day event and the special tools required to do it properly are not cheap ( bore gauge, valve spring compressor, small hole gauge, ect). Not many people will want to make the investment. I'll add it to the list though. Thanks!

Working on clutches would be nice.
