Lawyer List - October 20, 2006, 11:48 AM

Please list the name of the lawyer you'd like to recommend, their phone number, cost, and what the outcome was/why you recommend them (it's hard to keep digging through other threads).

My lawyer:
Buta Biberaj (BB)

Company:
Biberaj and Snow, PC
7 East Market Street
Suite 225
Leesburg VA 20176
(703) 779-2000

Phone:
1-800-NOT-GUILTY

Ticket: 102/55
On route 7, Loudoun County
Outcome: $1500 fines (1/2 suspended), 6 months loss of license (1/2 suspended), no jail time.
The outcome is after documentation of selling of bike, signup for aggressive driving course, etc.
Lawyer cost: $750

Tanya

Well, technically you did get jail time, you just didn't have to serve any of it, pending good behavior. Ouch $750. How much was the lawyer? That might be a good thing to list too. How much the lawyer costs.

Lt. Colonel Grossman - writes in his introduction to The Bulletproof Mind:

One Vietnam veteran, an old retired colonel, once said this to me: "Most of the people in our society are sheep. They are kind, gentle, productive creatures who can only hurt one another by accident."....

"Then there are the wolves," the old war veteran said, "and the wolves feed on the sheep without mercy." Do you believe there are wolves out there who will feed on the flock without mercy? You better believe it. There are evil men in this world and they are capable of evil deeds. The moment you forget that or pretend it is not so, you become a sheep. There is no safety in denial.

"Then there are sheepdogs," he went on, "and I'm a sheepdog. I live to protect the flock and confront the wolf."

Peter Greenspun...Expensive as hell.
Reckless intent to kill along with a suspended drivers license-No jail time(they put it over my head pending good behavior as well)
Driving with a suspended license again-No jail time(more jail time over my head)
Somehow when I went to court for the second they forgot(I guess) about the jail time over my head originally and I walked away without them even mentioning my previous offenses/penalty for violating my good behavior.
I also had him represent me on some much more serious stuff, but that's probably not relevant so I'll leave it at that, but he can defend you for just about anything you want/need. He defended John Lee Malvo BTW.

My reckless is in Fauquier County - so I'll be in court in Warrenton - do you guys try to get someone local? My thinking would be local lawyers would probably be more familiar with the prosecutor/judges etc and possibly work out a better deal or have a better idea of when its time to ask for a continuance.

Corbet gave me one reference in Fairfax, but the others I've looked up in Warrenton are:

Gulick, Carson & Thorpe http://www.gctlaw.com/
Mark B. Williams http://www.markbwilliams.com/
Wiemer & Boyce http://www.weimerboyce.com/ <-- these guys are apparently X-police officers, anyone think that would be advantageous?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Tanya - you should edit your first post to ask for the following:

-Lawyer Name & Contact info
-Charges Faced & Location of violation
-Lawyer cost
-Outcome of case (fines, points etc)

Then a mod should sticky this.

I had a DUI in 05, he got it dismissed. Amazing guy, really pulled through for me.
cost was $1000 but worth it completely. He also does traffic, criminal, divorce, and personal injury.

He is my go to guy.
