Painting question? - March 15, 2012, 12:49 PM

Looking to get a new bike soon, but not too pleased with the color.

My question is: How much would it cost to repaint everything another color, (maybe a lexus pearl white) fairings, tank, etc?

Thanks in advance for the replies..

Pearls are expensive and harder to color match should you have an "oops" moment and need a respray.
The other factor is the quality of the paint and primer. House of Kolors, Colorite, DuPont Water Based, Trinity are all going to increase or decrease your cost.

If you're looking for a simple prime and single coat spray & clear job with el cheapo paint, expect to pay in the neighborhood of $400-450 for a Pearl. Better quality paint and clear $500-600.

You can take that price down a bit if you do the panel prep and strip work yourself though.

I have a guy, but you'd have to ship the stuff to upstate New York.
There are 3 painters on this board who would be more than happy to take on the project.
I am sure they will chime in later today with PM's to follow.
