VDOT apparently was not ready for the weather. There have been tons of crashes through the night and they're still happening. There are multiple crashes at some locations. The I-66 overpass at the Beltway has been popular.

Several cops have been in crashes, one of them was medivaced with non-life-threatening injuries. A VSP unit was advised to "STAY OFF YOUR MOTORCYCLE". "But it's my only vehicle" he responded. "STAY OFF YOUR MOTORCYCLE, DON'T GO ANYWHERE". The supervisor has been advising all motor units to stay off their bikes.

There are crashes all up and down I-95 and around the Beltway. Somebody rolled their SUV five times on the Beltway near I-66.

On top of this VSP is calling cabs and tow trucks for non-English speaking people with no driver's license. As if licensed driver's + ice weren't bad enough.

Yup, had a few calls this morning while on duty. One of the calls we had to use power tools to get the people out of the car. Ice or snow makes for a fun ride in our 44 ton Engine
