Do you clean Your road??? - July 13, 2007, 09:22 AM

I know I try to keep the roads I ride clean and debris free by moving hazards off the road that might cause a wreck, car or bike. I have noticed that most cagers just drive over stuff and crush it but it still is a hazard for bikers. Also if it is real bad, say lots of gravel, do you call VDOT and let them know about it. Do they come out and clean up? I know I have to call about 3 times before they really do it. Just wondering.

I've called VDOT about gravel on roads out westpoints and it was always there the next weekend..and the next.. and the next.

They really should find some way of generating money for road upkeep, like 3000$ speeding tickets or something,

i tend to clean up the road when i can, like kids balls and stuff i through back in yards, huge street signs i find laying in the middle of the road, (lane divides, stops and such) i find and hang on my bedroom wall

though someone just dumped a 5' tall gravel pile right in the middle of the road in my neighborhood, almost hit the damn thing coming around the corner this morning
