fodderstack road and 211 - August 2, 2008, 03:25 PM

fodderstack road, newly tar and chipped. gravel all over the road. beetween flint hill and washington.

211, three turns on sperryville side, looked like sand in road in the middle of the turns. AHHH!!!! good thing the speed limit is 35.

Yeah, that wasn't so much fun. Especially on the ride out while the roads were still wet. First run over 211 was still wet too, but the second run was nice and mostly dry. One corner half way up was littered with sand/small rocks, but for the most part, the rest was pretty clear.

What were you riding? I probably saw you. It turned out to be a great day for a ride!!

I remember an orange Kawi (maybe ZX-6) and another bike with some fairings missing. A few BMWs and several cruisers. Not to many sportbikes out.

Nope. I was riding by myself on a Red 2002 VFR, in full leathers. I think I saw you guys heading up when I was heading down on the Sperryville side.

think I saw a new looking red honda sitting in a ditch this weekend on one of those sharp uphand turns heading west.

Also anyone starting on 211 from Warrenton, everytime I take 211 on the weekend there is a cop always posted up about 5-10 miles west of warrenton. He is either in a cut in on to the right of the road(if you were heading east) or sitting in one of the medians about 1 mile or so past that.

Seen him 2 sundays in a row heading home from nova, both times he pulls out and paces me, then paces me and waves and pops a U

It is supposed to be nice today and Luray Mountain (211) is only 30 minutes from the house... has anyone been up there over the last week? I haven't been over there in a while, so I wanted to put a feeler out to maybe save me some time/frustration if it is in bad condition.

That is what I expected was probably the case... will give it some time (rain or two) and hope we're done with ice and snow around here.
