Food in Harrisonburg VA? - June 26, 2012, 08:56 PM

I'm thinking about an all day ride. Something like 29/211 through Luray to I81 then down to Harrisonburg then US33 to VA20 to VA3 to I95 or Rt1 back to Alexandria.

I think Harrisonburg will be the lunch stop but I've never been there. Anyone got any suggestions? I like diners and I'm old enough for that to mean something more like Bob and Edith's than a Silver Diner.

Thanks

about 30 min from there is Fat Boy's Pork Palace. It's in Brandywine WV. It's good.

Are you strictly looking for a diner? I went to school though so I know the area pretty well. Looking for a good burger? Jack Brown’s has pretty good burgers, I like Dave’s cheese steaks on pita...just let me know what you’re looking for.

Anthony's Italian touch pizza.

Small place, good food. Legit NY/NJ style pie.

Definitely hit up Dave's Taverna for their steak and cheese on a pita.

I can't think of any diners around the JMU campus, but, there are a lot of food options.

gonna hit up dave's the next time i'm headed to 33, as it's right off the main street. the menu looks pretty good, and price seems reasonable too. reviews are a little mixed though.

Sounds good. Wasn't looking for Italian but there's more than subs and pizza on the menu, the reviews are good and it's in sight of 33. I'll have to try Fat Boy's next time when I plan a route for it.

Changing I81 to US11 though.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

You may want to move this to the Rides and Events forum.
