Grooved pavement @Rockville Pike - March 19, 2009, 08:32 AM

Just a heads up to anyone that rides on the Pike, theres grooved pavement on the pike around the intersection of the Pike and Twinbrook. Don't know how far it goes because I turn north off of twinbrook but its there. Be careful.

My first ride on the street on my first street bike back in the late 80's was on 355 in Frederick. I was following a friend in his IROC and every turn on 355 had been grooved for repaving. I would be hugging his rear on the straights and then when the turn would come up he would see my headlights fade away and then on the straights he would see me hauling ass to catch back up.

I think that was the beginning of my fear of turns LOL!
Grooved payment sucks!

Grooved pavement REALLY sucks. I got stuck on some in Baltimore City, no warning signs of course, like a mile from Greektown to Dundalk/city border. It was a mile or two of panic thinking I was gonna drop it.

It SUCKED when they were doing the work at the 234 bypass and Balls Ford... At night, you'd come off the free way, and be on the brakes in the dark, on the grooves!!!

Back a few years ago they were redoing 28 up near frederick.
I had my tinted visor on and couldn't really see but for the lines on the road. A car was going really slow so I decided to pass. As soon as I crossed the lines I felt a drop and knew immediately they had torn up the one side of the road.
Getting back to the other side doing 80mph and hoping the road was lots of fun on a harley!

Tinted visors are scary at night haha. Just and update CAUTION to anyone riding on the Pike, uneven pavement and plenty of groves to, around Twinbrook and probably other parts to. Be careful yall.
