Thumbs up haymarket/plains/middleburg area - August 14, 2006, 11:56 PM

I am a fan of this route: Waterfall Rd. which turns into Hopewell Rd,right on Plains Rd. (@ the end Hopewell, not sure of the name of the road at the beginning, but it is "Plains Rd.' at the end), it comes out on Rt 50 in Middleburg ,make a right on 50 and go down to Snickersville Rd. (on the left) to the end and back, (it makes a "Y", with a stop sign. Either way is a nice ride), back to Rt50,make a left on 50 and go through Gilberts Corner,(the intersection @ Rt15 & Rt 50), go about 3 miles on 50 and make a right on Gum Spring Rd., take that to 234, make a right, go to Pageland Rd. it will be on the left, Pageland has nice long turns you can get down into and a 1/2 mile straightaway at the end you can see to the end of. This will bring you to Rt 29 Lee Hwy. Left to manassas/centreville or right to gainesville/warrenton. Try it out, but definately check out Plains Rd.

Hey, I'm out in Gainesville; I run those roads all the time. Good stuff. Lime Kiln road off snickersville is pretty good too once you get past the rough pavement (watch for gravel though, and DONT even think about going there around dusk... the place draws deer like rednecks to nascar).

Another ok run is Catharpin Rd to Sudley, right onto Sudley, then left onto Gum Springs up to 50. I ride this just about every day... its my commute

I'll PM you next time I'm headed out since your fairly local

... and someone, anyone, please SHOOT that fat kid.

yeah lime kiln is nice, defiantely rough in a few spots. catharpin rd. is ok, but getting crowded and i see a lot of deer and police on that road. i guess i should get to a meet-up and find some other routes. i just started riding in march, so i only know a few riders in this area. another good ride is Elizabeth Furnace rd., it parallels skyline drive, it is a scenic route and if you ride like i do its hard to take it in. if you are just crusin' nice scenery. but who wants to cruise? i'll get a harley for that.

aaaaannnnndddd

In the future try not to post road names publicly. This site gets monitored and next thing you know there will be heavy police presence on your fav. routes.

i don't think this site is telling cops where we are. if they know their beat, they know where people are riding. all i was saying was my route, i am not the only one anywhere i go, i see anyone from sportbikes to harleys to ferraris. think about it. i see cops too, we all share the road. they are everywhere. take the ride and enjoy it, either that or do the speed limit,be safe and keep your bike in the garage. any cops that see this, post a hello in here, and keep an eye out for my bike near haymarket. there is a pic of it on my profile.

Good lookin' out though, johnnyspeed. As smart ass as it sounds, I do understand but you pay to play if you ride a sportbike, they watch us no matter what.
