70mph is way too fast and dangerous

55 saves lives

horsepower is how fast you hit the wall, torque is how far you take the wall with you

even though right now the speed limit is 55 nobody drives at that speed. i would say the average speed right now is like 65-70. after the increase, is that mean that we can drive little bit faster like 80mph?

Yep, I was there and they brought out the 55 saves lives slogan with a quickness to help sell it to the public.

The wtop report has a few stats on other states:
Thirty-three states have top limits of 70 mph. Twelve have 75 mph limits, and Texas and Utah allow speeds up to 80 mph.

These raised limits will not be anywhere near us. The limits will only be raised in desolate areas of major highways, ie 64, 81, 95, and 85 in areas were there is nothing to disrupt.

Question is will they adjust the reckless regulations, ie anything over 80, etc?
