Key Bridge Manhole Cover - February 1, 2006, 08:09 AM

Be careful merging onto the Key Bridge from GW Parkway East. There is a manhole cover that is maybe 8 inches lower than the surrounding road surface with a very rough transition. I ran through it last night while leaned over and accelerating to merge with traffic, and it wasn't pretty.

That is all.

Yikes... rosslyn in general (not to exclude georgetown and Dupont) are really rough for bikes. I've been in more than on compromising situation because of road conditions. 8 inches is one HELL of a drop!

It felt like 8 inches, but I didn't actually measure it. It may have been only 3. You know how guys are!
