North Beach Route - The Original Boonie Crew Route! - June 22, 2011, 11:29 AM

Ok - Here is the original North Beach Route (also known as the Boonie Crew route). This starts at the BP Gas station on Piney Orchard Parkway but some people start the route from the Exxon gas station on Rt. 3 and cut into the route I think at Governors Bridge Rd.

Couple of things that you should know about this route -

  • This route has been overridden and EVERYONE knows about it.
  • Neighbors have been known to come out and yell at bikers flying down the streets
  • and it is out in the boondocks.
  • This route is patrolled quite regularly..and theres not a lot of places to bail.
  • Parts of this route have been a popular route for Harley guys for a LONG time...
  • Its a long ride. I usually stop at the Ice Cream store or Ledo's to get something to eat..
So, PLEASE heed the following;

  • I THINK it is Patuxent road..There is a right turn with a bunch of caution signs that say 15 MPH. Guess what..IT REALLY MEANS 15 MPH! Enough said!!
  • Couple of these roads are narrow..Cars and bikes fly up the other way! TAKE IT EASY ON THESE ROADS! Dont ride over your head.
  • START WITH A FULL TANK OF GAS! You WILL loose track of time and mileage because you WILL be having FUN!! Dont be that one who runs outa GAS!!
  • If your riding with a group that knows the route..and knows the route WELL, DON'T let this route fool you. It will whoop your ass..

I didn't even know there was a Sportbike Operation forum on here. I'll bet this is news to a ton of active users.

Scoripon need a bike to borrow then we can do a classic NB ride set up with multiple groups.

Im going to go and try to learn this shit for some newer riders and some old ones to do on sundays... or what not.

dude let me know when you are hitting it......I am usually free to roll.

I have been on it once, last Wed with Mossburg, and we were rolling so fast I didnt even pay attention to where we were or going just laying rubber to pavement...........

wouldn't mind comprehending what I was riding..........

I have been riding that route for a long time, not even realizing it's what everyone called the "north beach route".

I always saw people posting about the route, but everyone was always hush hush about the actual roads. This is the first time I've ever seen someone actually post it.

I feel disappointed now, I was hoping for something new lol. Becareful on harwood, there are no lines painted on a lot of it, and people coming the opposite way drive in the middle of the road sometimes. It has small hills and there are a few blind turns where you could possibly be met with a vehicle coming head on because it's pretty narrow.
