Road Surface Warning - June 12, 2008, 05:25 PM

I was coming back from the shop this afternoon and decided to take the scenic route. There is a stretch of road from route 340 on the Maryland side that runs parallel to the Potomac/Shenandoah/Canal enroute to Shepherdstown. Well I discovered that part of it has been treated with a tar sealer and gravel. It's something I am familiar with from my childhood. It's a way of 'repairing' the road without resurfacing. Unfortunately it about a 5 mile stretch of gravel. It will probably be that way for most of the summer. Don't go that way if you don't have to. A secondary road was almost as bad.
Just a heads up for those in the region.
