“Give Us a Brake” Traffic Initiative in Reston

Throughout the month of August, patrol officers in the Reston District Station will be conducting a speed reduction campaign. “Give us a Brake” will target speeders in trouble spots throughout Reston. The goal of the initiative is to promote compliance with speed limits and prevent speed-related crashes. The campaign is being conducted July 31 until September 9 between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. Additional patrol officers will be on the streets. In addition to major thoroughfares, certain residential areas will be watched, and speeders will be ticketed. Targeted thoroughfares include Springvale Road, Lawyers Road, South Lakes Drive, Frying Pan Road, Colts Neck Road and Sunrise Valley Drive.
