all I know is the Testarossa styling killed the RF bikes. People either loved them or absolutely hated them. I guess most folks decided the latter. I've only seen one RF6 on the street and that was actually not too long ago down at Clinton. Dude had been riding it for about a year with no issues and he was probably like the 10th owner or whatever.

The RF900's were very solid bikes and were excellent alternatives to the VFR back in the day. My guess would be that the 6's are just as solid.

the RF has the motor out of the 1st generation GSXR 600 (92-93) they put out about 85hp in stock trim. The motors are easy to wrench on and are set up as previous model GSXRs. They are not light by current standards but make fine street bikes. The seating position would be very CBR600F3esque.
When I launched the motor in my GSXR600, I replaced it with a motor from an RF600. If it's different, it didn't feel it. It's a solid bike. As Rek mentioned.. the styling never caught on..but on the flip side, he won't see himself at a traffic light
