Picked up the shell of a 2003 Yamaha R6 this week. Needs a boatload of work, but I see mucho potential.

Bike started up and idles just fine. Frame is unscratched/bent and the forks look good.

Here's some shots of it in a 'before' state. Actually it is not really truly 'before' as the plastics have been taken off and the tank and seat have been removed. But other than that, nothing has been done to it... yet.. muhahahaha.

Cool, thanks!

It's looking better now that I took the subframe and batteyr tray off and cleaned it up a bit. Have some parts coming in this week:

- new subframe & battery tray
- speedo & harness

items I have my eye on off ebay:

- vortex fairing stay

things you can try to put your feelers out that i'm looking for:

- 03+ gas tank (don't need fuel pump)
- 03+ wheels (don't need tires)

You need a speedo for a track bike? I would think that it would be too distracting. As long as you are passing, what do you care your speed is?

At least it was for when i was on the track...

Just asking...

stock speedo/tach are one piece so unless you go aftermarket, you need the whole thing. Plus, I hear some bikes won't run without the speedo/tach.

I personally find the tachometer useful, and with the R6 the factory speedo/tach is one unit.
