Dyno Numbers - June 30, 2007, 04:33 PM

I went to the Dyno Shoot-out at Coleman's today. I was curious to see what my SV can do. If I recall correctly my bike is supposed to have 77 horsepower. I think I read that in Cycle World a while back. On the dyno today my bike put out 71.2 horspower. Does anyone have any ideas on where I can find my missing horspower?

Here's the sheet.

Go run it on the same dyno that Cycle World used.

What sort of numbers were other bikes putting out?

Most of the number you read about are measured at the crank. You loos about 10% through the drivetrain. So having 71hp at the wheel isnt to bad.

I left after the Harley guys beat me for the twin class. The other bikes according to the sign in sheet were about where they are supposed to be.

Did anyone see a R6s or 03-05 R6 dyno? I'm curious what the numbers are!

Thanks!

I was only the 9th person to run when I was there. I didn't really look to see who was pulling what.

Fast Lane Cycles is planning to have their annual dyno shootout on July 22. Not the greatest scheduling, but I didn't have anything to do with it.

i had my 05 r6 tuned and it put out about 116 hp. this is with slide stops, bmc race filter, vstacks, and ignition advancer. ais was removed too. i've read about others getting 116 too with the exact same mods, so it's about average and nothing spectacular.

edit, forgot to mention the full leo vince exhaust.

Do you by chance know what the 05 puts down stock? Just curious...my race bike has a slip-on...rest is stock so I was curious to know what it "might" be making.

Thanks!!!
