Exhaust: How loud is too loud? - April 25, 2006, 05:46 AM

So I finished my exhaust last night (baffles) and my gawd is it loud. So loud that when I leave (at 5am) I don't let it warm up cause it will wake the neighborhood! Hopefully ya'll can listen to it thursday at tell me if you think its too loud.

Hey 636Chick.... did you hear me go screaming by your house last night? lol

Well i just rode from Herndon to Arlington 267 -> 66. I got tailed twice for about 2 miles but never pulled over. That's not new though... since I got the "crotch rocket" it seems like cops will come from the other side of the highways just to follow behind me and see if I will do anything stupid.

If ya have to ask, it's probably too loud.

I'm not a fan of loud pipes...

No. But if I had to hear a loud cruiser or a loud sportbike, I'll take the sportbike any day!

Yeah I definitely did! I was downstairs in the office when I heard you go by.

Loud pipes may get you noticed by cops, but they will also get you noticed by people driving.

my bike is loud. i regularly set off car alarms. (heh heh). even if i am right next to a car, it will still try to merge into me. just because you have a loud bike does not mean cars will notice your presence any more. sure does sound good though....

"whats my solution? .............. noise pollution!"

You have to be careful of town noise ordinances, like Vienna has noise limits between specific hours.

Michael,

I guarantee that my exhaust is louder than yours.

90 degree v-twin with customized M4 headers into a 3 inch collector teminating in a Bassani dual chamber muffler.

If I can make it this Thursday, we'll compare and I bet you'll feel alot better about your exhaust.
