Gas Tank? - June 5, 2008, 10:19 AM

Hey all,

Well I'm having my first weird bike issue already. When my bike is stopped (completely off, stand down and all) I sometimes hear a strange hissing noise coming from around the gas cap. It sounds like air escaping really slowly, and when I open the tank I get a small rush of air that comes out initially, almost like breaking the seal on a vacuum.

Any Suggestions?

The bike is an 08 Ninja ZX-6R for reference, and only has a couple hundred miles on it, so its of course very much under warranty...Im just wondering if its something that should be a concern.

The bike is kept outside, almost always covered when I'm not riding.

Thanks for any input

It's your bike singing to you man. It does that when it's happy. Your gas tank is vacume operated to thats a normal vent sound.

No worries. Fill the tank back up and do it again!

God Speed Jeff! You'll never be forgotten.

BOOSTZX3 : in all seriousness head injuries ain't no joke. I've had around 10 concussions and now I ride a Buell Don't let it happen to you!

Do you buy a condom to look at it? No you buy it to fuck.
