Noob question on suspension - January 24, 2006, 04:06 PM

Hey, I've been riding my bike for about 5 months. Its a sv650s with stock everything minus the lower fairings. The ride feels fine but I'm assuming that with some adjustment of the suspension that it could be better. I weigh 260+ lbs. I've tried adjusting the suspension to be "harder" but I dont notice a difference. I've heard somewhere that bikes are made with 160lb guys in mind.

Are there certain tips that anyone can give me to get all I can out of my sv? I don't want to spend a lot of money on this bike because I'll soon be trading it in or selling, but I could drop a few hundred if its going to increase the resale.

And please dont say "lose some weight fatty". Cause I've heard that one before.

I have a Ninja 636 shock that might be perfect. It is a common mod.
