Parts from new bikes fit old bikes? - September 26, 2006, 10:40 AM

I am having some trouble locating some parts for my ZX10. In the past some people have suggested that parts from some of the newer bikes will fit mine. How can I find out if something will work? I have tried matching part numbers from my ZX10 to a newer ZX10 or 12 but they rarely match up. I need a new slave cyl, Clutch spring holders, and Clutch spring bolts.

I don't think many parts from the new 10 will fit the old 10! You would need to go thru all the parts books and compare them. Find someone with a new 10 and check it over but I doubt anything will work. Also try the ZRX1200 bike cause that one used parts from all model KAWA'S.

You need to be looking at parts for a '91-'93 ZX-11. The ZX-10 and 12 are completely different than your bike.
