Powercommander setting for Kawasaki! - January 26, 2006, 10:29 AM

I finally bought a Power Commander III and a K&N Air Filter from a friend of mine. Also, did people know that they now have an accellorator pump upgrade on their website for you to download FOR FREE? But back to the main issue. Heres my setup. 2003 ZX6R 636 with a MIG Slip on and a K&N Air filter. Im looking for what the best mapping for the powercommander. DOes anyone else have this setup or something close to it with the power commander? What setting are you using? Any other hints?

Im not going to toy with the accellerator pump option yet because I havent put on the 1/5th throttle control yet. But thats coming soon...

Every bike is a little different. The best way to get it right is to have it dyno tuned. You can get close with preloaded/downloaded maps though.

have you checked dynojets site?

best bet is to just get a custom map made... not too expensive.

Do what Drag said. Download a whole bunch of maps from the power commander site. Test each one and see how you like it. Custom maps are nice but can be $250 or so.

I looked on the site and the closest to my setup is a Micron Slip on with an aftermarket air filter. UNFORTUNATELY, I dont own a laptop so I have to hook it up to my desktop. If I can get a deal on one Ill buy it but for now....I cant. I was thinking about going to to Eastern Motorcycles and throwing it on the dyno....

keep in mind that baseline run is not a custom PC map

baseline run is a single run on the dyno and a map generated.

James - Just go to the ZX-6R(RR) owner's forum. I'm pretty sure one of those guys will have a map for you, or at least give you a good baseline.

From my understanding Fastlane in Chantilly picked up a Dynojet 250 with an exhaust sniffer. Bringing their total dyno operations to 2 - a 150 and the new 250. You may want to give them a call to see if the new system is up and running 703-818-8890!!!!!

I'm positive they can help you with all your mapping needs!!!
