Red face Stop, look, and listen. Then smell???? - May 24, 2007, 08:01 AM

On my way to Lowes yesterday my chop konks out. Start it back up and I'm back in business. Leave Lowes and again no worky. I was thinking vapor lock. Stop the bike, look around and I smell something. That bad “my wiring is funky” smell that could only be melting plastic. The posts on the rear in-line brake switch had started to rub against the frame.

I go back inside and come out with some zip ties. Made it home and there was another smell. My backpack containing a gallon of paint, a paint roller, and a paint tray had heated up on the way home. Heavy backpack and crazy exhaust do not coexist.

Dont put anything flamable back there. I feel an afterburner is not necessary on that bike.

Actually, I feel a "Gula's patented back hair removal system" market campaign coming on with this idea.
