Question Trying to find a brake reservoir connector that is not angled. - April 21, 2009, 02:45 PM

Iím using a 2005 Kawi ZX-10 front master cylinder (Nissin) on my bike. Looking for a connector (Part 13159 shown below) that is straight. Anyone have a bike that uses a straight one?

I'm tired of searching...

Thanks.

My only though is to cut up an angle and plastic weld to make a straight unit. PITA but only thing I can think of...

I've tried twisting up some stainless race wire and putting it in the tube to make a curve. Looked dumb to me.

I was about to spend some time on the lathe but I found a quick solution. Since I cut the connector at the elbow there was not much left to secure the tubing to (see pic). That's why I was looking for a straight connector.

There's a rubber dust boot looking piece that sits on top of the connector. I removed the boot and gained another .25". Problem solved and it's even tighter now. Bike does not stay outside long so water will not be an issue. Yeah!

Digging up old threads here...

I had been running a RM250 reservoir which is about 1/2 the size of any other street stock reservoir I've seen, but I've been thinking about going a different route.

How is this working out for you? What type of hose are you using?

Good. I removed the dust cover and used a small zip tie instead of the safety wire. I've chatted to several people that have run this set up with no issues. Got he hose from McMaster Carr. Send me that small reservoir. I need one for the rear brake.

And mcmasters-carr doesn't carry something like that? Hard to believe, they've got it all practically...

What is the specific hose called? Is it as simple as brake fluid resistant?

Your welcome to my RM reservoir as soon as I can afford something as slick as this for my rear brake...

Actually RM res never really worked too well, I think I might be missing a gasket or something in the cap cause it leaked.

I painted it with wrinkle black cause it was pretty yellow.

I just got 10mm clear tubing. Check the Internetsssss for brake fluid specific. I'm running dot 5 so it's probably not as important.
