2006 Site Suggestions Thread - April 10, 2006, 07:55 PM

So you all have had a few months to play with the new look and feel/layout of DCSBN.

Now, tell me what you would like improved/changed that would make it easier for you to use.

Have difficulty doing something on it that needs more explanation or a doc written up? Let me know that too.

Always want to hear some suggestions on how to improve the site.

Please note these are technical suggestions, not "have more rides"... these are suggestions that I can implement to improve the forum software.

Thanks!

Improve the ability to find photos in the photo gallery section. Maybe a link to your photo album in your profile. If there is one I can't find it.

"Riding a race bike is an art - a thing that you do because you feel something inside."

"I don't like being famous - it is like a prison. And driving for Ferrari would make it far worse."

"I race to win. If I am on the bike or in a car it will always be the same."

"I'm Valentino Rossi. And I want to be a person, not an icon."

Adrian, If you go to User CP and then view profile under groups you should see six pictures from your gallery and then a link to your gallery underneath those.

I would, but the space on the left is already very long... makes for very long pages.. with another picture in there it would be waaay too long.

Hmm there is an addon called "vbGarage" that I could add.. allows you to put pics of your bikes into a garage space.. then has a link under your avatar to it "View my Garage".. but you can do that in your gallery already...

I don't think he meant a picture, just a line, like:

Bike: Huffy

My only thought is, and you may have fixed this already, but can you make it so that if you change the title in the first post of a thread that you started that it updates the thread title on the home page and new post search page. I know that that has bugged me on more than one occassion.

And thanks!

I think the rep thing should go away. People seem to get hostile over it.

The rep thing was kinda cool, Gixxer.com does it. Problem is I have noticed certain groups assigning rep to eachother and the point of it is kind of lost. Maybe if it were more transparent like feedback on ebay people would use it like it had meaning. Right now if you get Neg you say "yea bitch, didn't sign... pussy" and positive rarely means anything more than an extra bubble I like when people comment on why I said somehting they liked.

The pictures are all, by default, going into a big pot. You cant find anything by poster or you need to name it something unique. It would probably be more user friendly to auto assign a default user folder for all the pics to go into automatically.

My .02, I think it looks great other than those suggestions, and I'd live without them so...

Maybe if u could scroll down on the shoutbox a little farther. And the 'archive' pages are too short....it takes forever if u wanted to read what you missed a few minutes ago.

How about the ability to pay for the rights to change another users Avatar and Custom Title.

Like I pay $10 to you and I get to change someones title to "Stupid asshole who love to talk and never listens" or something like that, and then that person can not change it back ever! I belong to another forum where this is done and its fun as hell plus more $$ for you. WIN WIN
