Ok, got it in the gallery, but when I attach the link or try using the image button, only get a red x when I preview it.

Between the image tags, you have to put the DIRECT URL FROM THE gallery.
To do that, you need to click the image in the gallery, so its the only image on the screen.
From there, righ mouse click the image and do properties. That has the direct link.
Make sure it ends with the file name. eg.. /photo.jpg.
