Several KTM bikes just got knocked down a slot on my "To Own" list.

Looks very light and agile for a big bike. As for competing against the hyper, forget about it. Aprilia has been in the tard biz for a while now. They know what they're doing. The hyper, while a cool bike, is a weekend adventure for Ducati. For Aprilia, these bikes are a way of life.
