Ok I've been out of town for about three weeks, so I knew my battery would be dead. So today I jump-started my bike off of my civic, and went for a ride. As I heading down my street I notice my speedo is stating I'm doing 86 MPH, but I was really doing 30 MPH. Then I look at my odometer and it's stating I have 11,400 miles on my bike, Bull Shit! I had just changed my oil before I left town and it had 7,400 on it.

So what’s the deal, is my Speedo fucked up? Or did I fry my bike's computer? Any ideas?

When my battery died and I got it recharged, it switched to Km/H instead of M/h. It took me awhile to figure out what had happened. I was pacing myself next to some POS Kia or something wondering why this dude was doing 80 in a 35

I got you beat. I was tinkering around with my bike, and went to start it, and it wouldn't start. I had just been messing with my power commander, and saw that it wasn't getting lit up when I turned the key. For 20 minutes I check my bike, my wires, my plugs, my battery, see if I had gas.....and then I looked and realized that the kill switch was on!!!

Damn, what is it with the electrical systems on 929's/954's. I've seen one that wouldn't start if you reset the clock after disconnecting the battery!

929 rider: Damn it won't start.

Friend: What's the matter?

929 rider: Did you reset my clock.

Friend: Yeah man, that flashing 12:00 was bugging the shit outta me.

929 rider: AH shit!! :mad2: I told you not to reset that, damnit, where's that trickle charger.

Former friend: Here.

Bwa ha ha ha! That happened to my old roommate too. We were riding around in reston an his bike died on him at a left turn light. He's cranking it for like five minutes and thinking wtf? Checked the fuel and the reserve. I get off my bike and take a look at it and still the same thing. After a few cycles through the light I finally figure out he hit the kill switch by accident!

No really, it was a friend and not me!

How about running out of gas, forgetting you have a reserve switch, and spending 1/2 hour trying to start your bike while killing off your battery?

How about trying to jumpstart my brothers 1991 Yamaha FZR 1000, pushing it all over the damn place, up and down a hill time after time after time, even going to Colemans to pick up a new battery, then pushing it all over the place to jumpstart it. Here is a sample of the conversation we had:

Me: Man, I aint pushing this damn bike anymore.

Brother: We'll let it sit for a minute

Me: Sit for a minute hell! You got any damn gas in that thing?

Brother: I should; let me check. (Opens gas cap and looks in) Oh...um...naw, aint no gas in here.

Me: You got about 3 seconds to get your ass off that bike and out of my face....
