curious about the REPSOL 1000RRs - September 26, 2006, 02:54 PM

So next year I wanted to get a 1000RR (if I'm not fully seduced by a red 2007 600RR-I didn't see any announcements about a 2007 1000RR..so Honda is S.O.L. this year).... but since owning a Ducati FILA replica I now have a thing for Replica bikes...

So I'm just curious about the REPSOL 1000RRs. What year(s) were they offered? How easy would it be for me to find one for next season?...

Obviously insurance on a 600 as opposed to a 1000 is also gonna play a hug factor in my decision about getting a liter bike again..

your opinion?

2007 CBR1000RR isn't significantly changed:

New for 2007
  • Black-painted swingarm adds aggressive new look.
  • Exciting new colors Black/Metallic Gray and Light Silver Metallic join Red/Black.

Hopefully these images will link.

If not, go here:

I think I like the all black 2006 better.

The Repsol 1000's were an 04, 05 option as far as i know. The 600RR got the even rarer telefonica team movistar replica only 400 of em
http://www.1000rr.com/vb/showthread.php?t=8542

oh and as far as insurance goes, i was quoted a $12 a month difference between the 600RR and 1000RR from progressive... $144 a year is worth it to have the 1000

'04 CBR1000RR and lots of Volvos (and now a new Tundra for hauling them around when they all break)

The Repsol was only offered in 2005. That is the first gen 1000RR (2004-2005), the 2nd gen 1000RR are 2006-07 which has quite a few updates.

The 2007 colors still have not been released officially yet, but I don't think there will be another replica.

It not easy to find Repsol bikes used. There wasn't that many shipped to the US.

The telefonica replica was only a Japan bike. The US never got a 600rr replica. There's a guy on this site that made his own Telefonica rep and it's pretty sweet.

There is a 1000RR Repsol Replica with the new fairings, but I don't think it will be offered stateside. If you can get one, let me know, I wanna be the first to bow down to you.

Here it is at the Motorbike show in England 2006 Oct (see the new fairing design of the 1KRR:

And look at this sweet color we aren't getting either (check those rims; I don't think we've seen Red/White/Black since the CBR600F3!!!):

Happy drooling! I'm usually not on .net, but since I can't get on .com, I decided to drop a few messages.

Here's some more from their site:

And the blue 600RR (it's different than the US version because the mid isn't that tacky silver metallic paint, it's actually blue):
