Next will be the electric scooters ranging from 50 to 125 cc.

The smaller electric motorcycles will only be able to run about 18 miles, or 30 kilometers, on one charge.

Hmm... a 200mph Hybrid that get 75+mpg...

It actually shouldn't be that difficult, the motors Honda uses on its hybrids are already pretty small, dubbed pancake motors, becasue they are only about 18" or so in diameter and about 4" wide. In college one of our engineering projects was retrofitting an SUV as a hybrid, and adding a toyota electrical motor was as simple as just moving the tranny back the 4 inches and sliding the pancake motor in between.

A pancake motor for motorcycle sizes and weight could easily be made compact enough to fit into a bike frame easily.

The hard part is fitting the batteries, both size and weightwise, but battery technology is getting there.
