'83 Interceptor V45 (750). I am such a craigslist whore, I saw this bike first thing this morning and went and bought it. These things were the shit in their day before the GSX-R came out. This one is maybe a 5 out of 10 cosmetically but it seems to be mechanically sound. A little tlc, register it as an antique and I have me a nice sport-tour sled. These V4 motors are so smooth, sometimes you forget to upshift into top gear because there are hardly any vibes coming through.

I had the '84 and loved it. Rode it all over the East Coast. Slap a Corbin seat on it and made Kennebunkport, ME in a day.

The '83's had an issue with oil not reaching the top-end -- someone made a fix (back in the day).

+1. Great bike otherwise. I'm a big fan of honda's V-4 motors. I used to have a v30 magna just for teaching new riders. I'd buy a current gen interceptor if they weren't so damned expensive.

Yeah....I know that one firsthand. If the oil light starts flickering then you really need to shut it down and have the oil pressure checked. My 83 500 pretty much destroyed the top end, fixed that, then the bottom end. I loved the bike, but it wasn't the most stable mechanically.

Nice find though!

Ha, I'm finding all about this oiling issue after the fact. ready, fire, aim. BigB's motto: Buy first, ask questions later.

However, this motor has 37K on it and is making no unusual noises so maybe the fix was already done at some point. crossing fingers

I'll just ride it and if it blows up at least I don't have a ton of cash sunk into it.
