Project: Gravel Road Explorer - June 10, 2009, 09:44 PM

I got this 1980 Honda CB650 at an auction, of course.

I stripped it. Cut off the lower shock mount and added a plate that would raise the mounting hole up 2 inches and move it forward 2 inches. then i added DOT semi off road tires. I made a new seat pan and rear cowl thing out of fiberglass and bondo. Added some high quality carpet padding and shaved it onto a narrow dirt bike seat. Also put on dirtbike styled handle bars. I painted it with BBQ paint, good stuff. The tail light is the original one from my 636 molded into the cowl. I took fabrication pics but can't find them.
Special thanks to Nudist for hooking me up with a set of SV mufflers. i put them on and they look way too big so i'm thinking about options. i have some small things to do and then she will be ready for the gravel roads. I also might paint the whole bike black. It feels great sitting on it, can't wait.
