i own a mechanically stock 2000 F4 and was starting to be interested in purchasing a highmount slipon. i've been researching this for a couple weeks now and have narrowed it down to 3 brands, devil, two brothers, and micron. being that i dont know anyone else with an f4, i cant say that i've heard any of these in person, so i was hoping that maybe someone on the board might have, or at least have an opinion on the three brands.

im somewhat hazy on two brothers right now since their highmount gets rid of the rear pegs, which i would prefer to keep. i originally liked the "silver into red" fading design that micron had, but some people have said that the micron is too quiet compared to the fairly loud two brothers. and i dont think anyones ever said anything about devil. so, opinions?

I have the 3/4 Devil highmount shotgun (dual can) on my 954. It let me keep my rear pegs and IMO sounds very nice. It isn't obnoxiously loud like the D&D, but has a nice throaty bark to it about 7-8k RPMs when you open it up... I get a lot of comments on the exhaust since its pretty cool looking with the dual shotgun setup.

No performance gain since its still technically a slipon.

Im partial to Micron, so somewhat biased.

I've actually heard the full system two-bros on a 99 F4 (actually helped installing it) and IMHO it wasn't any louder then either of my microns. I also have found that the Micron is definitely in the 'loud enough to be heard, but not loud enough to be irritating' range of sound. ClemsonJeeper has a devil on his 954 and having heard that a lot over the last year, it is louder then my Micron but not irritating. Then again, what is irritating to me, might differ for you and others. I will say, I would prefer the Micron and Devil over the Two-Brothers.

if loud is what you want, take the can off or get an irritating D&D.

haha nah i really dont want irritating loud. being young, male, and on a sportbike attracts enough attention from law enforcement as is, i dont need to have a deafening roar attract even more. i really was just hoping someone would chime in that micron was a good brand, since i had kindof had my mind set on one beforehand.

I don't have one for an f4. I can get you one, no problem. The 379.00 list price is for a regular "polished" can. The colored(blk-red) high mount can list price is $449.95. The last time I called, I was told ALL Micron high mounts retain rear peg sets. All but one person installing the Microns on their bikes have been VERY happy. THAT person was upset because the front end of his929 came up so much easier compared to the Two brothers he had. He went home to shave that thing... I can do the Colored for $385.00(new) and the Polished for $ 335.00(new) including shipping. You gotta come to me to get it though.

For those of you checking in, I have TWO black-red & one Polished 929/54 bolt ons @ $300.00-overstock
and One Carbon Fibre red 600RR underseat @ $400.00-overstock
PM me, I'll get you my #.

P.S. the last two shipments took less than one week.
