Anyone with ECMSPY experience? - January 4, 2012, 07:58 PM

Anyone with ECMSPY experience? Got an 05 XB9SX in October and I am finishing up my winter work. Added a jardine rt-1 and k&n, so i'll need some tuning. trying to figure out if i should reprogram or just get an EBR race ECM.

If it where me I would go ahead and get the EBR ECM, every one has great things to say about their aftermarket stuff.

If you can get b00st to program your ECM that would be virtually identical to getting a race ECM. I think tunerpro is also a valid choice these days.

Yeah I'll help with whatever I can. It took me, my dad, neighbor and some buddies plus 2-30 packs of bud light to do my Lightning Low suspension swap, but that was a while ago. You need some stands and hands to keep it shiny side up when the forks are off.

@Fitz, I believe you can. I have the cable, dunno if you'd looked at your ecm before but this is the cable I have (for the lightnings/firebolts)

Just be careful that if you mess with your ECU you will void your warranty!

Oh wait never mind.

I just don't want to spend the 300 dollars on the EBR ecm... but, from googling, it seems that tuning the 1125 is a pain in the ass... so maybe i'l just suck it up and get the ebr ecm...

GRRRR

dunno man

I would work on the suspension before anything. More power does not = faster. But also try fitting the exhaust and get a dyno run on it and see how it runs. Do a before and after with the Air/Fuel ratio.

I don't care so much about the power. I just don't want to have issues with the exhaust.

Can i put the exhaust on with the stock ECM and be "ok?"

Run your bike stock on the dyno. With the A/F reading you will know what should happen if you mount an aftermarket exhaust. Not even sure how much power you will pick up. It will be lighter but not as robust. The stock exhaust's on the XB's were the only ones to hold up to racing. We shredded 3 different exhaust's on the XB 12. Had to custom build a muffler for it.

Amanda needs to hurry up and start making money so she can buy me nice motorcycle things!
