Buell Service at East Coast Harley? - June 9, 2011, 12:19 PM

Anyone have any experience with this shop in Dumfries? The guy I talked to seemed to like Buells. I had him run my VIN and he came up with some upgrades and bulletins that are going to be taken care of free of charge.

It seems to be hit or miss when it comes to buell service. Shops with techs who know the bikes well and like them seem to do real well, but then there are shops that seem to hate them.

Anyways, I need a new voltage regulator and some harness changes.

I got a good vibe off this guy. Anyone use this shop for Buell service?

BTW, i would LOVE to take it to a small independant shop. But it's warranty work, so I kinda have to go with HD.

When Buell was shut down I went there trying to buy the big Buell sign outside. They said it wasn't for sale since they will still provide Buell service. They seem OK, for a dealer. I buy S100 there to wash my bike.

I thought you were bikeless?

RnR...Rick and Mike know Buells...hell Rick raced/races one. Battley is good to. Fredneck HD is ok to, took long time for my tire change but they were "nice" as far as Harley dealers are towards Buell stuff.

This is warranty service. I need to take it to an HD dealer, yeah?

I only use repair shops if I don't have time to do it myself.
Almost used them one time when I had my 09 XB9R. Just wanted fork seals and fluid changed. Even though I told them I would bring the forks in off the bike they still wanted to charge me the same price as they would if they worked on the bike and removed the forks. Big pass on them for me.
The dealership off Indian Head highway in MD, at least they were more reasonable on pricing for a stator change but were too far me. You might want to try them.
I do all my own work anyways so I did not bother with any of them due to the BS and usually don't deal with dealerships.

Again... I would do it myself if I was paying. This is all under warranty.

I'll check that other shop out

Did you ever get your warranty work done? I probably need a new VR as well. Did he run your VIN over the phone / for free to check TSBs and harness upgrades?

What was his name? I'm in Woodbridge now, trying to figure out which H-D to take warranty work to.
