146 hp & 375 lb. dry weight. Not too shabby. Very Buellish looks, but improving.

I've always liked Buells. Now, if they release a nakefied version with this engine, I may very well go for it.

I've always thought the in frame fuel tank, and swing arm oil tank were very trick pieces on the XB's but the use of the tweaked sportster motors didn't seem like a good match. Granted I've never been able to test ride one so these are just my view from talking with a few riders I met while riding or hanging out. The description of this new 1125R is pretty bad ass, can tell Buell/Harley are trying to appeal to a younger age bracket on this one. Can't wait to check one out in person and hearing reviews from owners.

BTW saw this press release on the BRP-Rotax website while looking for more info on the 1125R

not bad, but as we all know looks can be decieving... be interesting to see how to holds up to Ducati, Aprilla, and the Japanese companies. Deffinately an appealing lookin bike though...

before the hatefest begins ......

from the Buell site the engine is a:

Liquid-cooled 1125cc Helicon® V-Twin

from here http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/Articl...ID=4960&Page=1

Quote:
At the heart of the 1125R is the Helicon V-Twin powerplant, claimed to produce 146 horsepower at the crank, developed in conjunction with BRP-Rotax specifically for Buell and the 1125R.
and then from here

http://www.brp.com/en/Company/Who.We.Are.htm

Quote:
Headquartered in Valcourt, Quebec (Canada), it has over 140 employees in offices around the world including: Australia, Brazil, Belgium, Canada (Sherbrooke and Montreal, Quebec), Japan, Russia, Scandinavia (BRP Nordtrac) and the United States (Sunrise, Florida).
If i remember correctly, TD has had Buell's in the past, and most of what he has posted about Buell comes from his experiences owning them - in this case he clearly isn't talking out his ass .... unlike some other people.

BACK TO TOPIC

I'm not particularly a fan of the aesthetics. The front end looks like a wannabe Ducati. The back end looks like a TLR reject and the rest, with the exception of the scoops in the front, has been see before. Then again, I never like Buell's in pictures - they always seem cooler in person.
