GE Capital deal with EBR for floorplan financing. - December 7, 2012, 11:47 AM

General Electric media information for journalists and the press - Press-Releases - GE Capital Supports Ramp Up of Erik Buell Racing LLC - General Electric media information for journalists and the press

As I understand this, the financing from GE is a big step towards building his dealer network.

Awesome stuff!

We'll see. I haven't ridden anything more than a B. Blast. Nice enough weight distribution and handling. But the clutch was ridiculously hard to pull. That should have been fixed prior to production IMO.

Erik hated that bike too.

You cannot compare the blast, or any HD-powered buell, with the new bikes.

It's a whole different ballgame.

My 1125R was fucking fantastic.

Impressive for him to get that in this economy

Bet he's giving away the farm on the back end

Inventory financing in a shrinking market ain't cheap but he's gotta do it

I love my Firebolt. The shaking sucks, the 5-speed kinda sucks and the top end sucks, but aside from that I wouldn't trade it for anything. It's had it's share of problems, but that can probably be blamed one my dad and me getting drunk and working on it.

Can't wait to get an EBR washing machine and toaster for the new season.

The new EBR 1190RS is definitely fap-worthy. Now they just need to make one that's reasonably priced.

There are some other threads on the subject. Essentially, with the support form hero, and the financing from GE, EBR SHOULD be able to do a primo bike like they have now for much lower cost. Around 20k as it's currently configured (and it's configured WELL... the common comment is "race bike with a plate")

THere's also speculation of several more "normal" models. It'll likely still be more expensive than the japanese bikes, but much more palatable.
