What impeccable timing! If you are at all enthralled with the 2007 Buell lineup, DO NOT read the Motorcycle Daily First Ride Review of the 2007 Buell XB12S Lightning:

I think the bike is hot looking and I would love to get one if I had the cash. Other projects are bleeding me right now.

Buell needs to invest in his own engine work. He should have a Jap maker work on one for him. Shit ford did it and the only ford worth owning came out of it... SHO.

Again, I prefaced the title the way I did for a reason. Don't make this another Buell bash thread... Just read, and enjoy.

Is the only difference between the two motors the stroke (i.e. are the heads, cams, etc the same)? if so, the 12 might benefit from some headwork, and different cams...as its probably under-flowing for that large of a motor

I keep hoping that the V-Rod motor, or some variant of, and a 6 speed caset style trans will find their way on to the firebolts. Even with out these are still fun azz bikes!

That head shake he talks about while shifting can also be fixed by suspension adjustments.

Vrod motor is too heavy. I hope Buell continues the KISS idea. I dig em. I still like the old ones better though.

Ben,
I think you underestimate Americans. anything the japps can do we can do it better.
buell finished 8th with the xb12r, and the other buell used was the the xb9r which i dont understand why they would do that!
The xbRR was not raced.
now just imagine if the XBrr would have been raced. but erick buell has obiusly a plan.
whatever that was i dont question it since he has built a company out of nothing and given us a choice of another bike to ride!

This is some stupid sh*t right here. American Automakers have led autosports development since its inception.
