+1, but this has been discussed to death dude. Best thing that happened to Erik is getting away from sportbike-haters. Let's see what he makes next... and whatever it is I'll be slapping Buell logos on it.

Listen, HD will tank. They are behaving just like American car companies by appealing to their aging customer base. While these baby boomers may have the disposable income to blow on 900-lb bikes that haven't changed much in 40 years, they are getting too old to ride, and they are beginning to die off. Seriously, how many younger people do you see on Harleys? It's fine if they want to keep producing their "classics", but they show no sign of innovation or adaptation in their product trajectory. I mean, what if one day they announced a new, cool-looking dirt bike or supermoto that had some modern technology in it? No, HD is taking the grab-all-we-can-now approach and basically throwing forward-thinking out the window. I harbor little more than disdain and disappointment for HD.

Nope. The streetbikes are dead for now. Part of the agreement Harley strongarmed Erik into was he could never again make Buell streetbikes but can continue racing and producing the 1125RR. Wonder why they're scared of Buell streetbikes........ maybe they wanna make their own sportbikes in the future?

+1 John. We got friends on here that love and ride their Harleys but.... come on son! Liquid cooled....ZTL brakes...fuel in frame.... oh wait they had that and they killed it. So much for appeal to the under 30 demographic.

Sounds like a Tower Records-esque business plan.

Sorry but I have both and I have almost 20000 miles on my Harley in 2 years. I love my sportbikes and it is an absolute blast but in order to really enjoy that bike I have to be committing felonies left and right. There is just a different feel about that motor that is just different and fun. I have ridden many other v-twin cruisers by other manufacturers and they just don't have the feel of a harley... Sorry! Added Power for a Harley can be expensive but the 103 or 110 is soon to be the norm and the 96 will be no more and those have good power.

I know but I have always seen Buells and Harley as two different companies and they really shouldn't have even been in the same showrooms together.
The VRod is more along the lines of a Harley but I can't stand that bike.

Def. +1.....the types of folks looking at Buells or sportbikes for that matter are very unlikley to walk into a Harley Davidson store... Buell should've had its own stores. Or at least be sold along other sportbikes.

Who cares that it went up, dude.

Would you rather sell 2,715,773 expensive bikes, or 92,999 cheaper bikes?
