Hmmm....what...10K to get a Buell? Another 5K to get it race ready. (Suspension, bodywork, new swingarm & chain setup, etc), Then constant engine work to keep it from puking everywhere. After that...you have to compete against the B level Buell teams for contingency.

Doesn't really do ya much good now does it? JMO.

And yes...I've beaten Buells before on My SV700. but if it's a big horsepower track like Daytona, Road Atlanta, or Road America....why bother since they can open up several hundered yards on the straights.

Pretty much. Very few guys will earn enough to offset what it costs to run one of their bikes. JMHO.

Hehe. I've heard they are decent to ride. But the power they make isn't really reasonable in the classes they run. Hello..1200cc's versus a seriously modified SV700??? Can we say stupidity. Still...it's fun beating some of the guys running the nationals on my Leeeetle SV.

...and this year they are not allowed in CCS LW classes. For those of us on 650's, that's a good thing.

Actually they are still allowed. Only the Beemer 1200 got booted from LWSS because it has 4 valves per cylinder vs the Buell's 2 per. But with no LW contingency hopefully there will be less, not that there were many last year. It seems that most have realized what POSs they are and moved on.

Trav, I thought I read on the CCS forum that XB12r's were not allowed to enter LW competition this year in conjunction with the BMW's? oh, well, hopefully the contingency doesn't bring about too many 12 riders.

we'll just have to see.
