Okay.. i'm prepared to ask a question when the answer is probably obvious to everyone else...

But isn't that an 1125cc bike vs 600cc bikes?

*sigh*

Kay, incase anyone missed my original post on this issue ... since I was kind enough to put up the fact that it may be a spoiler.... this is the headline from Superbike planet on this issue...

Bostrom Saves World From Cosmic Awfulness Of Having A Buell On The Pole For The Legendary Daytona 200

Buell, how about how we do against the IL4 liters? That would be even, 1125 verus 600 isn't even a comparison. Thats like comparing a XB12R to a Blast or Ninja 500.

I don't think it does Buell any favor by handicapping it to the point where it competes with bikes that are half their displacement. Kinda embarassing to Buell owners, 2001 don't you agree? Inline 4's do have 2 extra cyclinders but come on. Buell just needs to stick with the liquid cooling and up it to some 1098 level numbers.

HHMM did Ducati get a break? Do all vtwins when racing against inline 4's get breaks? I guess you guys do not see the big picture with trying to get all manufacture's into racing. Plus it is not just motor that gets you around the track!

I would have to say that I definitely agree with you on this in "most" cases. However, there are some tracks (Daytona especially) where motor plays a HUGE part. When I was at Daytona in the fall (CCS) it was VERY obvious that motor was an issue when Josh Hayes was killin em in the infield and being left behind on the banking.

actually, almost ALL motorcycles (with rider on them) have about the same aerodynamic drag co-effiecient as a dump truck or school bus... at least, that's how it was a couple years ago...
