The Ducati Desmosedici RR has been unveiled:

-Over 200hp with racing exhaust kit provided
-989cc L-Four cylinder, Twin Pulse configuration
-Desmodromic, with 16 titanium valves
-Quadruple 12 hole 'micro-jet' fuel injectors
-Cassette transmission
-Sand cast engine cases with magnesium covers
-Dry slipper clutch
-Ohlins nitrogen pressurized reservoir FG353 PFF GP spec forks
-Ohlins four- way adjustable rear shock with GP6 linkage
-Brembo front radial calipers
-Forged and machined Marchesini magnesium wheels
-Full carbon fibre body.

For 65K you could fab something that would stomp that.

Looks like fun. I'm sure that the jap companies will be putting out that kind of horsepower for 12k in a few years, but good on Ducati for doing it first. Still, I'd be much slower on that bike than on my 90 hp Ducati unless we were at bonneville going in a straight line.

I don't get why people get so bent about 65K for something like that. I'd much rather have that than a Viper, and I'd still have money left over.

Really Dave? 65K !!! For much less you could make something similar to womp that bike and look just as good.
