Was also looking at this bike. Sat on one in Colemans and realized it didn't fit me well. Didn't feel like I could ride it in a good way. Now my eye is on Monster 1100.

I've only ridden the 1098 fighter and honestly I'd take the 848 fighter. The 1098 fighter was just too angry for an everyday bike but it was bloody brilliant on a Sunday ride. The 848 fighter with the new 11 motor is meant to make it a good everyday bike. The 15k mile valve check makes it attractive too.

I'd say go for it.

Cheers,

I have one here in a demo, so come on out and I'll take you out for a spin! And I am in COMPLETE agreement that the 1098 is a beast in day in day out life.. the 848 mill is infinitely better in that role..

I also have the M1100EVO as a demo.. hint hint..

I have one. Coming from the more aggressive seating position of sport bikes, I find it really comfy but it still handles very very well. Fun all around bike. I highly suggest taking Chad up on his offer...I don't think you will be disappointed. I went down a tooth on the front sprocket, as I felt it was geared too high....other than that, I'm extremely happy with it.

I dont have one per se, but I do ride a stationary bicycle a lot and based upon that experience I think youd like the SF848

As Jason said, they handle really well, and are just much better suited to the road than the 1098 Fighter.. just a better bike all around in my opinion. Toss the Monster 1100 into the mix as well.. they handle really similarly, different seating positions and motor characteristics obviously, but they are definitely in the same wheelhouse.

I love my F1098. With the Bazzaz FI-TC and 14t sprocket, it is nice! Also Props to Duc Pond for having the R.H. Wheel spacer for my front wheel. My son loved being in there and seeing the new Duc's as well.

Yea i have a monster now, dont really care for another. 1098 isnt going to be as much fun on the street and just make my insurance rate higher SF is a much more aggressive look that the monster just isnt in.
