Ducati 2008 S4Rs Tricolore - October 4, 2007, 01:21 PM

ok for now I'm dreaming. But one day a Ducati Monster will be in my garage.

here are the 2008 S4Rs Tricolore. I'm going to go now since I can't buy one yet.

THE FLAGSHIP
Some of the most sought after Ducati models are the striking 'Tricolore' versions. Models like the F1 750, 851 and more recently the 1098 Tricolore, produced in limited quantities, represented the best-of-the-best and now enjoy legendary status.

For 2008, Ducati will produce a Special Edition S4R S in the bold Tricolore colour scheme. True to its legacy, the S4R S Tricolore epitomizes the essential soul of Ducati. Its Italian design heritage is expressed by the colours of the Italian flag and its sporting heart could not be better represented than by the racing technology and absolute racing performance it embraces.

The Monster S4R S Tricolore - true to its name - the flagship of the Monster family.

THE "MONSTER SUPERBIKE"
The liquid-cooled, 4-valve per cylinder, 998 Testastretta L-Twin engine features a 100mm bore and short stroke of 63.5mm to limit average piston speed and allow increased rpm. The result is a staggering 130hp and 76.6 lb-ft of brute torque.

Testastretta technology allows a reduced angle between the intake and exhaust valves resulting in a clean, compact combustion chamber that is highly efficient. The optimised combustion environment and linear flame front inside the specially designed heads, combined with cutting-edge electronic engine control technology, guarantees precise and optimal combustion throughout the rev range.

WHEN WILL THESE FUGGERS EVER COME OUT IN BLUE!!!

You know...when I was at the dealer I was scratching my head at an S4Rs and the sport 1000 monoposto.

But...then I looked over at the hyper and was like....nah...I'll just add them to the collection later on

I'm right there with you, ed... I'd rather have a blue & white S4RS and call it a day...

They've come out in blue a few years. 1999 had the Ducati Monster 900 City. It was the last of the carb'd years and was dark blue with a white stripe. It came with matching soft bags, iirc. I'm not sure, but I think there was a more recent FI Monster that came in blue. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

you are correct ... Kind of.

in 2004 or 05 (Marc help!!) a Blue Monster S4R was realeased. But so far, not S4Rs.

I actually have my eye on one (2004). But I need to start selling to buy it.

I think the MSRP for the 2007 S4Rs was $15k or so. I'd assume it will be a little more than that.

I'll sell you my S4R and you can paint the tank (or trade someone for a blue one)...the yellow is actually more rare (just ask dwight)

seriously though, I'm thinking about getting rid of the monster...
