Ducati Confirm Special Edition Valentino Rossi Motorcycle - January 26, 2011, 02:16 PM

here's a surprise.... now Chad will tell us which bike it will be..

Ducati Confirm Special Edition Valentino Rossi Motorcycle

26th January 2011
Ducati Desmosedici GP11's

Ducati CEO Gabriele Del Torchio has revealed that the company will release a special edition Ducati to celebrate the joining of Valentino Rossi to the family.
Del Torchio was speaking about Ducatiís 2010 sales performance and the acquisition of Rossiís services for the next two years.
ďIn due time, in due time. Now itís too early to say, but in due time you can expect.Ē Replied del Torchio when asked about the possibility of a streetbike replica.
Ducati, rather surprisingly, havenít made that many replicaís and most they have made, have been Superbikes, as we told you recently when some Carl Fogarty oneís came up for sale.
Ducati did make an 848 Nicky Hayden edition but never released a Casey Stoner bike at all.
Speculation is rife about what the bike will be, with many predicting a limited 800cc bike to commemorate the end of the 800cc MotoGP era.
What we do think is that Ducati will wait to see what improvements Rossi thinks need making to the bike before the bring out any kind of special edition.

How hard could it be to just take a 1198R, put some Rossi graphics, and charge the public an extra $5K? C'mon son!

seems a bit gay to make a special edition when the guy just got there. Zero heritage with Ducati and they want to commemorate it. Especially when they didnt do anything for Stoner and only gave Hayden a paint job edition 848

No idea as of yet... but the Hayden was a little bit more than just a paint job.. it had the black swingarm off the big bikes too.. yes its a little thing, but at the time, it was different from the others.. besides, the limited number's that thing was produced in, made it a bargain for someone looking for a limited production ducati, but didnt want to shell out big bucks for the honor.. $500 over regular cost for a bike they only made 500 of? Not too bad.
