Duc's new Mega Monster cruiser thing - July 16, 2010, 04:12 PM

rumors of Duc's Mega Monster Cruiser seem to be confirmed as spy photo's of this thing have been floating around ......mmmk...needs work..lots of it.

Euro comments are not favorable so far...

-------------------------
The first shots that revealed that the bike was already in the works were taken by a reader of Motoblog, but these latest shots give a much better look see at what well be seeing ahead of its official launch the EICMA show in November.

According to MCN the bike is 150+ bhp 1200cc V-twin and its supposed to have the performance of a superbike. While the bike may be very appetizing to the American market, convincing very snobbish Italian customers that this bike is the future is going to be a tough nut to crack, considering what we already read on Italian forums after the first pics came out.

I will say it is different for a Ducati... I really dont know what to make of it as it sits right now though.. Sort of a Yamaha Warrior meets V-Max and they mate with a Monster at the moment... I think I am going to reserve judgement till I ride it early next year..

No doubt that it will... I think it is gonna be an absolute blast to ride though.. It is different from the streetfighter in that it looks like the seat isnt 33" in the air and you aren't still leaned forward.. more of a true mega monster type riding position..

and then there's that massive rear tire which will make this thing more of a VMax muscle cruiser than the carving SF

If priced right, I think it will sell.. Powerful, comfortable, should handle fairly well despite the bagel on the rear.. We actually do have a LOT of people who come through the door looking to buy, but there isnt anything in the lineup that fits them.. ex harley riders who want a powerful good handling bike that is still comfortable.. Monster is close, but the 1100 is tall in the saddle.. the 696 is too small, the GT is actually pretty tall, and the SF is really tall in the saddle, and still fairly aggressive position wise.. This fits right in that spot.. I REALLY want to ride one, nad you can bet you will see me on our demo ALOT when it comes in.

My question as well. Unless the final version is some kind of ginormous air-cooled monstrosity it's really just a streetfighter or at least too similar.

center of gravity, look at the ergonomics - you're talking motard vs cruiser pretty much

no way will his thing touch on the SF's badassiness

it's supposed to end up looking something like this:

far cry from the SF if you ask me...
