Has anyone gotten their 1199 Base in yet? - May 25, 2012, 08:08 AM

I was wondering if anyone in the DMV has gotten their base 1199? It looks like people in other parts of the country have already received some, but I haven't received mine so I'm starting to get cabin fever. I know the bikes come into the country in New Jersey and are then shipped out. What I don't understand is how some dealerships on the West Coast can get their bikes before us.

Also, if you got your bike already, did the dealership set the suspension to 'progressive' for you? Set the preload for your weight? Hook you up with some Ducati swag?

A Ducati dealership giving away Swag to people who buy a bike from them? Unheard of.

duc pond just got the first base in last night. it's going out tomorrow. the base is pretty sweet. honestly, i think the base is much better for the value. the S is nice but you really don't need all the electronics.

Agreed. I'd get the base and get custom suspension w the saved money. It will kill the resale value a little more though.

According to the spec sheet, the Panigale has a 6" rear wheel.. Interesting that they put a 200 on stock.

Most (all?) of the other literbikes out now also have 6" wheels, and they come stock with 190s.

Its a completely different profile of rear 200...

I ran 200/60 on my 5.5 inch gixxer 600 with no problems but that's a good point. If money is an issue the owner can always downgrade to a 190/55 or 190/60 in slicks.

Yeah it happens. My mistake is that I should've just bought another street bike to ride in the interim after I sold my CBR. I was told my bike would be here in May, but I'm thinking that's not gonna happen now. I just hope that it is at least in country right now because if it's not that probably means July or something.
