That is insane...my hyper has 90ft/lbs of torque around 4200rpm...and that bike is a handful (but fun) 140? that's insane!

At top end this bike continues to give you more especially in cooler climates. To better answer your question I ride with my brother who has a Hayabusa. We came off of 495 to 50 towards bowie I had a slite lead coming off the exit and we both hit the left lane hard head down the ducati at top end continued to pull away at ease we exit at exit 3 to the gas station. He has a stock busa. What I love must about the bike is the ease it is to get to top end. You could be doing 120 easily and not know it. I just have the base model with no modications.

Incredible that Jeremy McWilliams on street tires was less than 9 seconds off Valentino Rossi's Jerez time

That and the 1098R put down the fastest ever lap of any street bike tested...WOW

That thing is sick.

Bro, if you are beating a Busa on the highway on a 1098 he is in the wrong gear. That is not even a contest and he should have about another 15mph top end that you. Just my .02 140hp vs 160hp and better aero's not a race at all.

Can't choose between the R1 and the 10R so I am keeping both but settled with an 1198S when I came home

Keep it up!!!!!!!

The aero's aren't that much different (the ducati has a much smaller frontal area, and with all the wind tunnel testing they did for the 1098 shape, its probably pretty close)...BUT...remember, the 1098 is 130lbs lighter.

from 100-150 I bet the duc would have a substantial lead (power-to-weight advantage), but 140-180 I bet the busa's better Cd would start making itself known.

With a 1098R, no contest, same power, same or better torque, nearly equivalent aero's, 130+lb weight difference...advantage 1098R
